Youth groups

Age 16 and older are permitted to stay at Presbyterian Disaster Assistance volunteer villages and work on job sites. Project Homecoming can arrange housing and non-construction work assignments for youth groups age 14 and up. Presbyterian Community Outreach provides housing and work for youth groups age 16 and older.

Age 16 and 17 must have one adult chaperone for each five teens and are restricted to non-hazardous tasks: those include data-processing/paperwork, sweeping/work clean-up on site, painting at ground or floor level, pressure wash exterior at ground level, dry wall installation plus float and finish at floor levels, general labor (moving materials, installation, holding ladders, etc), debris clean-up, general and finish carpentry, siding, flooring and insulation installation and light floor level demolition. No teens will be allowed to do roofing, mold abatement or heavy demolition. Use of power tools will be allowed only with one on one supervision following safety instruction.
